For more than 100 years, we have proudly provided safe, seamless and satisfying water services, making the essential possible for our neighbors in Montgomery and Prince George’s counties. Our History
Established in 1918, WSSC Water now serves almost two million customers in Montgomery County and Prince George's County. Here's a look back at how we started.
Our Governance
WSSC Water is governed by six commissioners, three from Montgomery County and three from Prince George's County, who serve four-year terms. Working with the commissioners is the corporate secretary, who keeps WSSC Water's official files and records.
Our Leadership
Led by General Manager and CEO Kishia L. Powell, WSSC Water's senior leadership team oversees a workforce of more than 1,700 people.
Board of Ethics
WSSC Water's Board of Ethics, which acts independently, ensures that our Commissioners and employees maintain the highest professional and ethical standards while performing their duties.
Financial Information
WSSC Water's operating budget - over $1.8 billion for Fiscal Year 2025 - is only one part of our financial picture. The Capital Improvements Program, payments on bonds and debt obligations, employee retirement plans and more are also key focus areas.
