Laurel, Md. – January 14, 2025 – WSSC Water Commissioners are holding their monthly meeting on Wednesday, January 15, beginning at 10 a.m. The in-person meeting will be held at the WSSC Water building in Laurel, open to the public and available via livestream from WSSC Water’s website.

Commissioners are scheduled to vote on a second temporary water bill amnesty program to help eligible customers with delinquent water/sewer bills. The program will be similar to the popular Get Current program implemented last summer. As of January 13, 2025, more than 79,000 accounts are past due, totaling more than $51 million; the vast majority (95%) are residential customers.

Also on the agenda are scheduled votes on approximately $23 million in contracts. The list of all contracts and meeting presentations is on WSSC Water’s website.

The meeting includes a call-in option to ensure interested stakeholders not in attendance can provide input. Those watching virtually and wishing to speak should call in at the beginning of the comments section, which begins shortly after 10 a.m. Callers will be admitted from the “lobby” when public comments start. Members of the public will have three minutes for oral comments. Written comments of any length are always welcome.
