Laurel, Md. – February 18, 2025 – WSSC Water Commissioners are holding their monthly meeting on Wednesday, February 19, beginning at 10 a.m. The in-person meeting will be held at the WSSC Water building in Laurel, open to the public and available via livestream from WSSC Water’s website.

Commissioners are scheduled to vote to approve a $1.8 billion Proposed Fiscal Year 2026 Operating and Capital Budget for transmittal to Montgomery and Prince George’s County governments. The water utility industry is very capital intensive, and the budget invests in projects and initiatives to address aging infrastructure and make critical technological advancement to improve services, efficiencies and overall operations.

This month’s agenda also includes a scheduled vote on nearly $40 million in contracts to upgrade critical infrastructure and improve service delivery. The list of all contracts and meeting presentations is on WSSC Water’s website.

The meeting includes a call-in option to ensure interested stakeholders not in attendance can provide input. Those watching virtually and wishing to speak should call in at the beginning of the comments section, which begins shortly after 10 a.m. Callers will be admitted from the “lobby” when public comments start. Members of the public will have three minutes for oral comments. Written comments of any length are always welcome.
