Laurel, Md. – November 19, 2024 – WSSC Water Commissioners are holding their monthly meeting on Wednesday, November 20, beginning at 10 a.m. The meeting will be held in person at the WSSC Water building in Laurel. It is open to the public and will be available via livestream from WSSC Water’s website.     

After the meeting opens at 10 a.m., the Commissioners will immediately go into closed session. The open session is expected to resume at approximately 11:15 a.m.  

Public comment will begin shortly after 11:15 a.m., including a call-in option to ensure interested stakeholders not in attendance can provide input.  

Those watching virtually and wishing to speak should call in at the beginning of the comments section, which is scheduled for approximately 11:15 a.m. Callers will be admitted from the “lobby.” Members of the public will have three minutes for oral comments. Written comments of any length are always welcome.

This month’s meeting agenda also includes scheduled votes on approximately $12 million in contracts to support replacing WSSC Water’s aging critical water and sewer infrastructure. This will enable the continued delivery of clean, safe and reliable drinking water and wastewater services to customers in Prince George’s and Montgomery counties.   

In addition to the monthly meeting, a public hearing on proposed front foot benefit rates and house connection charges is scheduled to begin at 2:30 p.m. Customers can find more information about the hearing, including the call-in details to provide comments, here.
