Laurel, Md. – June 14, 2024 – WSSC Water Commissioners are holding their monthly meeting on Tuesday, June 18, beginning at 10 a.m. (WSSC Water is closed on Wednesday, June 19 in observance of the Juneteenth holiday.) The meeting, held in person at the WSSC Water building in Laurel, is open to the public and available via livestream from WSSC Water’s website.
During this month’s meeting, Commissioners are scheduled to adopt WSSC Water’s $1.8 billion FY 2025 operating and capital budget. The budget funds a robust capital improvement program, creates jobs and enhances the economic output of both counties and was unanimously approved in May by the Montgomery and Prince George’s County Councils.
This month’s meeting agenda also includes scheduled votes on approximately $50 million in contracts to support replacing WSSC Water’s aging critical water and sewer infrastructure. This will enable the continued delivery of clean, safe and reliable drinking water and wastewater services to customers in Prince George’s and Montgomery counties.
During this month’s meeting, Commissioners will elect a new chair and vice chair for Fiscal Year (FY) 2025.
