Laurel, Md. – January 26, 2024 – WSSC Water is hosting two public hearings next week for interested customers and stakeholders to provide feedback on its preliminary proposed Fiscal Year 2025 (FY25) operating and capital budget. Staff will provide an overview of the $1.8 billion budget and receive public comments. WSSC Water’s FY 2025 budget begins on July 1, 2024. Interested members of the public can visit wsscwater.com/fin for complete budget details and to register to comment (not required).

The proposed budget must be submitted to the Prince George’s and Montgomery County Executives by March 1, 2024.
WSSC Water is currently in the midst of a rate-setting design process, which has multiple steps to help identify financial and policy considerations, revenue requirements and affordability concerns when considering possible adjustments to WSSC Water’s existing rate structure. The FY 2025 financial impact on customers’ bills will be determined upon completion of this process.
