Laurel, Md. – August 20, 2024, 6:45 a.m. – WSSC Water continues to urge customers in the Camp Springs area of southern Prince George’s County to limit water use.
The urgent essential water use only request is affecting approximately 1,366 customers in the Camp Springs area. Type your address in the interactive map to find out if you are located in the affected area.
Following the guidance below could avoid a Boil Water Advisory for the impacted area and help preserve water for fire protection as crews work to restore water flow to the Camp Springs water tank.
Until further notice, all customers are being urged to:
- Stop all outside water use – no watering lawns, no washing cars, no topping off swimming pools.
- Use water only as necessary – i.e., take shorter showers and quickly turn off faucets immediately after use.
- Limit flushing toilets (do not flush after every use).
- Limit using washing machines and dishwashers.
Crews completed water main repairs earlier this morning. WSSC Water continues to urge essential water use to allow the Camp Springs tank to fill with water.
