Laurel, Md. – August 31, 2023 – WSSC Water is hosting two in-person public hearings next week to provide customers and interested stakeholders an opportunity to learn about and comment on the proposed six-year (Fiscal Years 2025-2030) Capital Improvements Program (CIP).
The proposed $4.8 billion program focuses on upgrading and replacing WSSC Water’s aging critical infrastructure to enable the continued delivery of clean, safe and reliable drinking water and wastewater services to 1.9 million customers in Montgomery and Prince George’s counties.
Highlights in the proposed six-year CIP include:
- Water Main Reconstruction Programs - $1.6 billion
- Sewer Main Reconstruction Programs - $700 million
- Potomac Water Filtration Plant Upgrades - $239.5 million
- Piscataway Bioenergy Project - $10.4 million
