72”/66” POTOMAC MAIN INSPECTIONProject OverviewAs part of the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission’s ongoing effort to provide you with quality service while we repair our aging infrastructure, WSSC will inspect and, where necessary, repair and replace sections of a 72” and a 66” water main running between I-270 where it crosses Tuckerman Lane and Sligo Creek in Montgomery County. The inspection process is designed to have as little impact on the community as possible. We do not anticipate any interruption of your service at this time. However, because we are inspecting 6.4 miles of pipe, there is the potential that several sections of the pipe will need to be repaired or replaced. WSSC is working closely with regulatory agencies to deliver a high-quality project on time, while minimizing disruptions to the community. When it is determined that a section of the main needs replacement, contractors will be brought in immediately to work around-the-clock to replace the section as quickly as possible. Because the pipe sections substantial in size, the work required will cause some inconveniences when it comes to noise, traffic and illumination. Wherever WSSC alters the landscape, we will dedicate ourselves to returning the affected areas to their original condition. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our 24-hour emergency service number at 301-206-4002 or 1-800-634-8400. You can also receive updates on the project’s progress via e-mail. Simply send an e-mail to WSSC’s Communications and Community Relations Office at communications@wsscwater.com with “72”/66” Potomac Main Inspection” in the subject line.
