Student Intern Employment Information
The Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission’s (WSSC) Student Intern
Program has been established to provide college/university students with
the opportunity to gain knowledge, experience and understanding relevant
to their field of study. WSSC provides a work atmosphere that encourages
active participation on the part of students in helping this organization
fulfill its overall goal to be the best in class. The goal for each
student is to conclude the work experience a better, more productive
participant in the workplace. Students!!! We welcome you to join the
WSSC staff. We are committed to providing you with interesting and
challenging work opportunities as well as a pleasant, helpful work environment.
The program is a ten-week hands-on experience that starts in early June and ends in mid-August.
The following are some of the college/university majors that fit well with our organization:
Engineering – Civil/Environmental, Electrical, Mechanical, Corrosion.
Business – Business Administration, Business Management, Human Resources
Administration or Management.
Computers – Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems.
Government – Political Science, Government, Public Administration.
Communications – Public Affairs, Public Relations, Journalism, Communications.
Sciences – Biology, Chemistry, Microbiology, Environmental.
Applications/Resumes are closed for 2009. Please revisit our site in April 2010 for next year’s opportunities
- Be currently enrolled full time in a college or university.
- Have a 2.5 or better grade point average for undergraduate and 3.0 for graduate students.
- Be a citizen of U.S. or have a Green Card.
- Complete a WSSC employment application and resume.
Attach last semester official transcript. Mail information requested to the address
at the top of the application – attention: Human Resources Office. Indicate
“Student Intern” as the position desired.
