LAUREL – September 18, 2009: Gather the kids, grab your flashlights and roasting sticks, and make your way to the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission’s Annual Family Campfire, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, October 2 at Brighton Dam. With live music, s’mores and a toasty fire to warm you, you’ll have fun while learning about protecting our water supply.

Back by popular demand this year is the singing group “Just 2 Guys,” offering a great mix of music for all ages, along with jokes, skits and gags to make you smile.

Bring a blanket or chair for seating, and an unbreakable cup for the water that will be provided and a long stick for roasting marshmallows. Participants are urged to register soon because attendance is limited to 600 people.

Brighton Dam is located at 2 Brighton Dam Road, Brookeville, MD 20833. To register for this free program, go to the WSSC website: www.wsscwater.com and click on “Hot Topics – Family Campfire Event.” For more information, call 301-206-8240.

In case of rain, the campfire will be held October 9.
