LAUREL – September 9, 2009: Volunteers are invited to join The Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission (WSSC) and the Alice Ferguson Foundation for a Cleanup of Piscataway Creek. This project is among the many “conservation minded” activities the WSSC will host this coming fall season.
The cleanup will take place, rain or shine and is set to start at 2301 Bryan Point Road in Accokeek on Saturday, September 12 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Trolleys will then take volunteers down to the cleanup site along the Potomac River overlooking Mount Vernon. Gloves and bags will be provided.
Participants are encouraged to wear clothes and shoes that can get dirty and wet.
