LAUREL, MD, APRIL 29: On May 7th and 8th, nearly 450 lucky fourth graders from six Montgomery and Prince George’s County schools will participate in the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission’s (WSSC) Third Annual Children’s Water Festival. Held at WSSC’s Brighton Dam in Brookeville, Maryland, from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., the festival will provide the students with a chance to dive into the world of water education and soak up exciting, interactive lessons about life’s most precious resource.
VISUALS: The students will take part in hands-on learning activities about water, wetlands, human health, aquatic life and much more. WSSC and program staff will lead the children on a tour of Brighton Dam and through a series of games, arts and crafts, and demonstrations, including the “Hydrologic Game”, the “Fish Olympics” and “Wetlands on Wheels”.
On Wednesday, May 7th, students from Germantown Elementary in Germantown, Samuel P. Massie Elementary in Forestville and Thomas S. Stone Elementary in Mt. Rainier will take part in the festival. On Thursday, May 8th, students from Laytonsville Elementary in Gaithersburg, Mt. Rainier Elementary in Mt. Rainier and Rogers Heights Elementary in Bladensburg will enjoy the activities.
