WSSC’s Native Plant Garden for Butterflies and Birds

With help from CIVICUS and Prince George’s Master Gardeners, WSSC created a native garden for butterflies and birds at the Parkway Wastewater Treatment Plant, 10100 Canadian Way, Laurel.

The site at Parkway was chosen because the majority of our classroom tours take place at Parkway. So many of the students that come to WSSC will get to learn about habitats for butterflies and birds.

The garden is 20’ by 50’ with a small pond. The plants are native to Maryland and the Mid-Atlantic region, including:
